Ballarat Specialist School provides educational programs for students with mild to severe intellectual disabilities aged between 3 to 18 years. The school has two campuses, the main campus in Gillies Street and the FARM campus in Norman Street.

Calkendren Respite (Scope)
Description
Scope is a not-for-profit- organisation providing disability services throughout Victoria to thousands of children and adults with disabilities. Scope is committed to overcoming the various barriers that prevent those with a disability from participating in community life, and strive to make our community more inclusive, more accessible and more welcoming.
Activities
Scope Ballarat offers a site based respite facility - Calkendren. This is a fee-for-service unit, offering a staff "sleep-over" model of support to clients (staff are present but are not active between the hours of 10pm - 6.30am).

Description
Home Care Services provide in-home support to people with a disability and the frail aged. Support is also provided to the carers of disabled children. There is a range of services available to eligible clients. This service is means tested.

Department of Families, Fairness & Housing
Description
The Department of Health & Human Services is a Victorian Government department that plans, funds and delivers community health and housing services in line with the government's vision for making Victoria a stronger, more caring and innovative state. Services include a range of specialist support programs which are available for individuals with disabilities.
Activities
The Office of Housing provides public housing assistance and Bond Assistance. Grampians Youth Justice Unit offers services for youths who have been placed on statutory orders by the Criminal division of the Children’s Court and for those exiting Youth Justice. The Victorian Child Protection Unit investigates matters where it is alleged that a child is at risk of harm including physical, sexual, emotional abuse and neglect. (Phone 1800 000 551)

Karden Disability Support Foundation (KDSF) empowers individuals with a disability to make choices and have control about the life they wish to lead.
Activities
Individualised Support can provide you with a range of supports depending on what your needs are.
These may include things like:

• Support to pursue educational opportunities.
• Support with your personal care needs, eg bathing, dressing, etc.
